Together, we deliver flexible, industry-informed learning that leads to meaningful opportunities.

At our core is human connection – guiding people to reimagine their futures in a community defined by opportunity, creativity, and growth.

Who we need

Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, we are hiring an  IT Security Analyst to join our lean, high-impact team. You will be responsible for IT security facilitation, end-user support, and enablement activities. In this position, you will provide services to students and employees while identifying opportunities to improve the overall user experience in alignment with corporate strategic imperatives. As an IT Security Analyst, you will contribute to endpoint security, system access, phishing monitoring, and security patch management. You will collaborate cross-functionally with IT Operations, Infrastructure Teams, IT Architecture, and onsite Support teams.

This is an existing full-time role, working 2 days remotely and 3 days on-site at 85 Richmond Street West, with a move to our new headquarters at 120 Bloor Street East in 2027.

What's in it for you

Impact on security and resilience. Our team supports thousands of learners, faculty, and staff across campuses and online environments. Your work will directly influence how we detect threats, respond to incidents, and strengthen the security posture that protects critical systems and data.

Real-world security exposure. This role offers hands-on experience across endpoint security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and cloud environments. You will work with modern security tools and respond to real operational challenges rather than operating within a narrow scope.

A role where your expertise matters. In a smaller, highly collaborative team, your judgment and technical insight will have visible impact. You will contribute to improving controls, strengthening processes, and advancing security practices across the organization.

How you will make an impact

  • Security operations. You will monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts from the SOC and Microsoft tools. You will perform root cause analysis, lead incident response, and drive remediation activities to resolution.
  • User support and response. You will manage the security mailbox and investigate phishing reports, communicating findings and guidance to users. You will support students and employees with MFA, account access, and security-related issues through ticketing systems.
  • Threat and vulnerability management. You will conduct vulnerability assessments using our Vulnerability Assessment tool, prioritize risks, and coordinate remediation efforts. You will support patch management across servers and endpoints.
  • Endpoint and identity security. You will administer endpoint security and device management through our MDM solution. You will manage identity and access, including audits, access reviews, and cleanup activities.
  • Security awareness training and phishing simulation platform. You will support the delivery and ongoing improvement of security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations, to strengthen our security posture.
  • Security assessments and governance. You will assist in conducting security assessments and risk evaluations to identify gaps and areas for improvement. You will support governance activities by helping ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements, and contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring and controls. You will support security monitoring across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring controls are effective and aligned with organizational policies. You will contribute to system hardening and secure configuration practices.
  • Reporting and documentation. You will create incident reports, document lessons learned, and prepare audit-ready documentation for management and compliance purposes.
  • Collaboration and delivery. You will work cross-functionally with IT Operations and Infrastructure Teams, IT Architecture, and onsite Support teams as well as external partners, to resolve issues and strengthen security posture. You will contribute to security projects and tool implementations.

What you bring

  • The education. You have a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking Engineering, or a related discipline. Or, you may have recognized IT and Security certifications earned through progressive direct work experience. CompTIA Security+ is preferred, and Microsoft (SC-900, AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300), CCNA, and other security certifications are considered strong assets.
  • The experience. You have in-depth experience in IT security and infrastructure, with demonstrated expertise in incident response, alert triage, and security operations. You have developed experience across cloud and endpoint security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and user support, along with strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional verbal and written communication abilities. You can clearly explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences with patience and empathy. You can build strong working relationships with cross-functional, internal business partners. You know how to make people feel heard, build trust quickly, and maintain a positive attitude, even under pressure.
  • The accountability and flexibility. You take ownership of problems, follow through with accurate documentation, and escalate appropriately when needed to maintain SLA expectations. You are comfortable in a 24/7 environment and have the flexibility to provide after-hours monitoring and emergency support as part of a rotation. You can prioritize tasks effectively, respond quickly under pressure, and travel regularly to campus locations as required.
