Who we need

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, we are looking for an Accounts Payable Associate to join our team. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions for our organization. You will maintain financial records, verify invoices, and coordinate payments to vendors, suppliers, and other business partners in alignment with our corporate strategic imperatives. 

This is an existing hybrid opportunity working both remotely and on-site at our downtown location.

As our new Accounts Payable Associate, you will:

  • Process accounts payable transactions. You will review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and authorization, and perform three-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation. You will prepare and process electronic payments, such as wires, ACH and EFT.
  • Communicate. You will contact vendors to resolve discrepancies, clarify billing issues, and ensure timely payment. You will collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and finance, to resolve payment-related inquiries and issues.
  • Maintain records. You will reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding balances. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and documentation. You will assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts.
  • Manage expenses and corporate cards. You will review and process employee expense reimbursement claims through SAP Concur and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
  • Run payments and reconciliations. You will prepare and process weekly payment runs (wires, ACH, EFT), reconcile vendor statements, and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.
  • Support audit and compliance. You will support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports as required.
  • Support. You will assist the accounts payable team in other administrative tasks and special projects.

You have:

  • The experience. You have a finance or accounting background and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. You are highly organized, detail-oriented and meticulous, emphasizing data entry and documentation accuracy. You are comfortable using accounting systems and tools such as ERP platforms and expense management software (experience with Dynamics 365 and SAP Concur is considered an asset). You are confident working with Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • The drive. You have a roll-up-your-sleeves approach and energetic get-it-done style. You thrive in a collaborative environment while working independently and taking ownership of your deliverables. 
  • The interpersonal skills. You have effective and flexible communication skills. You have a proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, building relationships internally and externally. Compensation philosophy

At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe compensation should be fair, straightforward, and supportive of your growth. Our salary ranges reflect progression from learning in the role to excelling, with each offer based on skills, experience, and role complexity.

This position offers a minimum annual salary of $59,000, a midpoint of $62,000, and a maximum of $65,000. Established hires typically start near the midpoint, while the upper range is reserved for those with deep expertise and sustained contributions. Offers below the midpoint recognize strong potential with room to grow.

We strive for equitable, consistent pay, though rates may vary within the same role based on performance, specialized knowledge, and impact.
