Who we need
Reporting to the Director, IT Security & Infrastructure, we are looking for a Manager, IT Infrastructure to to lead and oversee IT operations across eight sites. In this role, you will manage a team of two System Administrators, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure to support seamless business operations. You will be responsible for Azure and cloud SaaS infrastructure, networking, firewalls, Microsoft 365, and backup solutions across on-prem and cloud platforms. Additionally, you will play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy, optimizing system performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
This is an existing full-time hybrid role, working 3 days on-site 85 Richmond Road with travel required between campuses across Canada.

As our new Manager, IT Infrastructure, you will:
- Lead. You will drive the implementation of infrastructure projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments. You will design, implement, maintain, and manage the IT infrastructure across multiple sites, including on-premise and cloud-based solutions. You will maintain high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of IT systems and networks.
- Oversee. You will manage and maintain server operations, virtualization, storage solutions, and data center activities while proactively addressing potential issues. You will enhance network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
- Collaborate. You will work with the IT Security team to ensure proper security measures for infrastructure deployments. As an escalation point for complex technical issues, you will provide operational support services at the second and third levels. You will work with IT teams and business units to ensure the seamless integration of new technologies.
- Administrative management. You will oversee vendor relationships and contract management to ensure compliance and optimal service delivery. You will support capital and operating budget planning for infrastructure initiatives and ongoing operations. You will identify areas where policies and procedures require modification, or new ones must be developed.
- Manage a team. You will oversee the work of two system administrators, offering technical guidance and working alongside them as needed. You will foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and innovation, introduce professional best practices, and promote continuous improvement by providing technical expertise and strategic guidance.
You have:
- The technical expertise. You have extensive experience in IT infrastructure operations, including networking, cloud computing, and system administration. You are solution-driven and have strong problem-solving and analytical skills. You have proficiency in Azure, networking technologies, Windows server management, storage solutions, and enterprise IT environments. You have knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, ITIL, DevOps, and automation tools (PowerShell, etc.).
- The people management. You have a proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. You are an excellent communicator with strong coaching abilities to mentor and guide team members through complex challenges. Your ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences ensures clarity in decision-making and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Vendor & Project Portfolio Management. You have experience managing vendors, including tracking budget increases, product changes, and lifecycle management. You stay on top of vendor relationships to ensure strategic alignment and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, you have expertise in project portfolio management, balancing multiple initiatives while maintaining attention to detail, organization, and prioritization of key tasks.
- Flexibility. You are willing and able to travel 2-3 times per year to our Vancouver and Fredericton locations as needed. You understand the nature of always-available services and solutions and are flexible to meet urgent needs or support infrastructure implementations and updates.

Compensation philosophy
At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, we believe compensation should be fair, straightforward, and supportive of your growth. Our salary ranges reflect progression from learning in the role to excelling, with each offer based on skills, experience, and role complexity.
This position offers a minimum annual salary of $110,000, a midpoint of $117,500, and a maximum of $125,000. Established hires typically start near the midpoint, while the upper range is reserved for those with deep expertise and sustained contributions. Offers below the midpoint recognize strong potential with room to grow.
We strive for equitable, consistent pay, though rates may vary within the same role based on performance, specialized knowledge, and impact.
