  • Evaluate student performance. You will consistently assess and document student performance against established expectations, providing clear and meaningful feedback to support learning and development.
  • Address concerns promptly. You will identify issues affecting student performance or clinical learning and address them in a timely and appropriate manner, escalating concerns when required.
  • Connect clinical practice with learning. You will draw on your medical/surgical nursing experience to help students understand how their nursing knowledge and skills apply in real clinical situations.
  • Support student success. You will create a supportive clinical learning environment in which students can ask questions, receive guidance, build confidence, and continue developing their nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with your Faculty colleagues. You will work with the Associate Dean and other Faculty to support effective clinical delivery and a consistent student experience.

You bring

You have the professional perspective needed to help nursing students connect theory with practice and provide real-world clinical context.
  • The teaching and mentorship skills. You may be an experienced nursing educator or a practicing nurse with a passion for sharing your knowledge. Either way, you want to develop teaching experience and help guide future nurses. You can explain nursing concepts clearly, provide constructive feedback, engage learners, and support students as they develop their clinical practice.
  • The learner-centred approach. You are committed to understanding the needs of nursing students and creating a supportive clinical learning environment. You can provide appropriate guidance while maintaining established academic and clinical expectations.
  • The professional currency. You maintain current knowledge of nursing practice and can bring relevant clinical examples and perspectives into your teaching. You are committed to continuing to learn and keeping your professional knowledge current.
